a fancy embossed thank-you card

A thank-you card I made using an embossing folder and a press.

I have done a lot of paper art, and here are just a few of my works.

One-off designs

a fancy card with a red foil heart in the center

A red foil heart card that I made for someone. I believe I got the colored foil from Christmas-themed Hershey’s Kisses and flattened and smoothed them out.

a card with a red foiled tree design

Tree Of Life (metal plate). I made it using something called a Go Press & Foil that uses heat and pressure in order to fuse the foil to the paper.

Stylus and stencil method

Some separate letters that I composed into my friend’s nickname.

Merry Christmas (stencil).

Running horses on silver and gold foil cards (stencil).

Thank you (stencil).

My favorite Christmas tree (stencil).

Embossing folders (used with a press)

I also made a bunch of cards using plastic embossing folders, which you insert the blank card into, and then roll through a press to imprint the design on the card.

embossing folders collection (partial)

Part of my collection of embossing folders. I have well over 100 of them. I got a little obsessed with collecting them when I got super into making these.

embossed card that has hexagonal flower petals (outside)

Hex petal flowers (folder). This one looks good on both sides of the design. This is the ostensible outer design.

embossed card that has hexagonal flower petals (inside)

Hex petal flowers (folder). This is the other side, the part that faces inward. I think it looks great, and you could put this on the outside of the card, too.

square embossed card with dots

Square card with dots (folder). These cost extra to mail, at least in the US, because they do not have a long side for the automatic machinery to process efficiently.
